About

“How would your friends describe you?” is a question I was asked in interview settings throughout my early career. If I had to answer this today, I’d lead with “authentic”. Finding a career I was passionate about that allowed me to be myself was of paramount importance to me. Now, I’m fortunate enough to live that reality while helping others further their careers for reasons important to them.

Having made the pivot to financial services recruitment from Macquarie Private Bank, my time in the industry has been integral in providing me with the depth of knowledge necessary to deliver the highest quality service to both my clients and candidates.

Outside of my professional life, I’m a keen snowboarder, traveller, food and wine enthusiast. I also have a deep love and appreciation for electronic music including drum and bass, techno and house.

Career

Prior to recruitment, I held positions at Hall Chadwick and Ernst & Young before joining Macquarie’sPrivate Banking division. While there, I got to work closely with some of the highest performers in the Australian wealth management sector and familiarise myself with the best fund managers across each asset class, both domestically and internationally. Shortly after my transfer to the Sydney office, I was promoted to Senior Associate, from which I made the pivot to headhunting within the industry.

After cementing my decision, I decidedto join Capital Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm to workclosely with one of the top operators in the asset management speciality –Mischa Bennett.

Today, I cover a broad range of positions within the asset and wealth management sectors, and am our practice lead for the following areas of specialisation:

Education

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Finance & Economics) from the University of Western Australia.Prior to this, I completed secondary school at Shenton College as a participant in their GATE (Gifted And Talented Education) Program. I also hold my WSET Level 1 award in wines and am currently completing the CFA program (Level 1).

Artistic Swimming Australia

Artistic (synchronised) swimming was a major part of my life for almost 7 years. I began competing in national level meets in 2011 before making my international debut a year later at the 2012Hong Kong Synchronized Swimming Open Competition. What followed was an additional four years of competing including the following international meets:

2014 Oceana Swimming Championships – Auckland, New Zealand
2015 COMEN Mediterranean Cup – Ostia, Italy
2016 Oceana Swimming Championships – Suva, Fiji
2016 FINA Junior World Championships – Kazan, Russia

At national meets, I placed first in the Figures Competition (a technical component scored in conjunction with routine elements) in the following years: 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016.

At my peak, I trained approximately 21 hours a week on top of class hours and study. Intensive training camps would run for 3-4 weeks at various interstate locations including at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra.

I made the decision to retie from the sport in 2016 following the FINA Junior World Championships to explore other pathways and focus on my professional career.

Other

As a woman in the industry, I am passionate about helping women further their careers in the banking and financial services sectors, which are traditionally male dominated. I am a member of 100 Women in Finance, an international organisation committed to building a more diverse and gender equitable finance industry.
